Earlier this week, Doja Cannabis (OTC:DJACF), which is a licensed medical marijuana producer based in Kelowna, British Columbia, announced that they had successfully imported marijuana seeds from overseas.

As a result, Doja is now one of the few licensed marijuana producers that have succeeded when legally importing cannabis seeds from overseas suppliers.
If you think that importing cannabis seeds would prove to be a challenge for a company, you’re right. It is a long-drawn-out process for any marijuana producer as it involves sizeable paperwork and precise legal limitations regarding the location of where you can acquire your seeds as well as who can you purchase them from.
According to Ryan Foreman, the man who founded Doja Cannabis, the actual process of importing the cannabis seeds took him months to finalize. First, Foreman said, “you have to apply with Health Canada,” adding that you then have to “prove that the group you are ordering from are allowed to export.”
Foreman opened up even more about the process, stating that Doja Cannabis imported over a dozen different kinds of cannabis seeds, and they are forecasted to commence growing them soon.
